Welcome to Hobie Fleet 10 in Clear Lake, Iowa

A 1979 refurbished Hobie 14
Thanks for visiting the Hobie Fleet 10 Website. We hope 2010 offers us long clear days with the wind blowing across our bow and the sun shining in our eyes.  Clear Lake offers some of the very best sailing in all of the Mid-West.  Our lake attracts great fisherman, boaters, and sailors alike.  The wind is consistent and the lake temperatures remain cool to enjoy even the warmest of summer days!  Members of our fleet pursue sailing for both recreation and competition.  Whether it's a gentle night sail with a full moon guiding us across the water, or 20 knot gusts screaming our catamarans through a tight finish line...Hobie Fleet 10 is a great place to enjoy sailing.

Hobie Fleet 10 is a proud racing fleet member of the prestigious Clear Lake Yacht Club.   Founded in 1935, the Clear Lake Yacht Club is a member of the Inland Lake Yachting Association.   The CLYC is also a member fleet of US Sailing and won the U.S. Sailing One-Design Club of the Year award in 2008.  The CLYC has other racing fleets including the MC, C, & E Scow fleets.  They also have an exceptional sailing school for kids.  Kids can learn to sail with Opti's, X-Boats, and Hobie Waves....all for an extremely low price.

On the Hobie Side of Life; Fleet 10 is a member fleet of Hobie Cat Division 7.  Division 7 consists of Wisconsin, Minnesota, North & South Dakota, Nebraska, Iowa, and the warmest parts of South Canada!   Division 7 in turn is part of the Hobie Class Association of North America which is comprised of 16 Divisions across the Northern Hemisphere.  Within Division 7 are 8 Fleets including Fleet 10...all of which promote the Hobie Way of Life!  And just what is the Hobie Way of Life?  Click on the link to the left to find out!
